Target Audience: E/O/B (N=Newbie, E=Hardware Enthusiast, O=Overclocker, B=Budget
Many thanks to Intel® for providing the processor.

I. Introduction

The Intel® Celeron® D 326 Processor on the test bench sports the latest stepping on this processor that is based on 90nm/Prescot core on the LGA775 package. This processor core is not the latest release, as such, being on the mature Prescot core and with the latest stepping, this will become attractive to overclockers who are on the cheap.

Primarily geared on the value market, it is designed to deliver affordable computing. The Celeron D processors provide customers the capability to affordably get onto the Internet, utilize educational programs, home-office software and productivity applications with great computing and multimedia power. It has great features for digital home computing, such as support for EM64T to enable the system to address more than 4GB of system memory and advance security functionality thru Execute Disable Bit that can prevent certain classes of malicious "buffer overflow" attacks when combined with a supporting operating system.

This processor is slated as the lowest part number among the Intel® Celeron® D series that is based on the newer socket. It is currently priced at ~Php3200.00 (~$62.00), and definitely fit even the most budget-constrained consumer looking for a quick and affordable way to get into computing. And as such, this processor being the lowest-priced in its catagory, this will serve as a good starting point to push it up and see how this processor will fare in both in stock and overclock settings. Time to get this baby going, but first, let's lay down the details of this processor.
